Making Sure You Have Enough Restrooms For Your Event

When you are planning a large event, there are a lot of details that you need to consider. One of those details includes making sure there are restroom facilities for your guests and many times that means bringing in some portable toilets or restrooms.

Plan for Your Crowd

If you are planning your event with information from previous years' attendance, it is easier to get an idea of how many people will be at the event this year. Using that information can help ensure that you rent enough portable toilets to provide restrooms for everyone without exhaustingly long waits. If you are not sure how many units you need, talk with the rental company that is providing the portable restrooms for you. They often have an idea of what will be needed with a specific crowd and event size.

Location of Toilets

Providing enough portable toilets for the event is only part of the planning you need to do. The location of those toilets is equally important. The toilets or restrooms need to be spread out around the event site so that people can get to them quickly and easily. If you have an area with food vendors in it, you may want to put some porta-potties near it but not so close that it presents a health issue.

Check with the health department in your area for guidelines about the use of the portable restrooms and toilets and see if they have limitations for the location of the units at an event. Remember that they can produce some odor over time as well, so putting them in areas that are convenient is good but try not to put them in the middle of areas that are going to have a lot of people congregated in them.

Service and Cleaning

One of the most important things you can do when you have portable toilets at an event is to keep them clean. For many people, using a portable restroom or toilet is not appealing and if the unit is dirty or smells extremely bad, people will not want to use them. If your event is a single-day event, you more then likely will not need to service the toilets in the middle of the day, but if you are placing a toilet that will remain in place for several days or a week, you need to make sure the company providing them can come and service them for you.

Talk with the company before the event to determine when you will have them service the toilets so they stay fresh for your visitors.

A Job for the Ages: Plumbers

Plumbers have been around for as long as homes have had running water. And do you know what? They'll be around for many, many more years to come. Plumbing is not a job that can easily be outsourced or done remotely. Your plumber can't exactly install your shower or fix your toilet unless they are in your actual home. Keep this in mind if you are ever looking for a job that can be done in-person. We'll share some more about plumbers on this blog, and we encourage you to read what we have to say, even if you just have a tiny interest in this field.
